Hohoo Bagsh- The Man, The Myth, The Legend

 
 

Bokhin Ayin's Ariela and Oyuntana interview Hohoo Bagsh (teacher) to share more about his life, legacy, and contribution to Bokhin Ayin as well as the Inner Mongolian wrestling community.

Hohoo is a local Mongolian man from the grasslands of Zuun Sunid, Xilingol, Inner Mongolia. He is 39 years old and has a wife named Tsewertsegtseg who is a famous traditional mongolian long-tune singer. Together they have a 12 year old daughter named Anujin. Hohoo’s parents are local herdsmen and he grew up as a nomad with them until the nomadic lifesyle was ended by the Chinese government. Now working as a physical education teacher and wrestling coach at a local mongolian school for many years, Hohoo is known throughout the community as strict and excellent coach, responsible for coaching countless up and coming and successful wrestlers.

Hohoo has been wrestling since he was a child, but officially began training Chinese Style Wrestling when he was 18 years old. He became the 90kg Chinese National Champion in Chinese Wrestling in 2008 and he was the under 100kg European Champion for Chinese Wrestling in 2014. He has been a champion in numerous other competitions for both Chinese and Mongolian Wrestling throughout his extensive wrestling career.

Hohoo officially met the Bokhin Ayin team in 2019 and he has been a part of the family every since. Watch our interview below to find out more about Hohoo’s relationship with Bokhin Ayin, his vision of Bokh and Chinese Wrestling in the future, and also learn some fun facts about him.
